Power Wheelchair Racing is a new sport that was introduced in 2006. There are few to no sports that are available for people with high level injuries, and people with limited mobility. Power Wheelchair Racing can be done by anyone with a power chair. This sport is good for your mind, body, and soul. Not only is it fun, but its filled with excitement and challenges. Everyone is welcome to join in PWR. Racing classes (levels) will be made to match racers equally by speed, abilities, and experience.
The Power Wheelchair Racing Association will be holding power wheelchair races this year between June and September in the Chicago land area. They are looking for others who would like to participate, volunteer, or help sponsor races for the 2007 season. Extreme Chairing is looking for companies, business, and sponsors to help in any way possible to develop the X Chair. This chair will have a speed of 25+ mph, large air filled knobby tires, and a great suspension to soften the rough terrain.
